Lŏcus

App creation and design about experiences in Barcelona.

The project was born because of the amount of memories that were being made at the same time: we need a platform where we can share them with the rest of the world and don't forget them. Lŏcus is an app where you can either share your experiences or discover the other user’s histories going to the places they are talking about and listening, seeing and reading their experience. You can also generate routes with them.

This project was made with Rita Pons.

Lŏcus defends that there isn’t an only history (the one studied at school and written in history books): history is the way people live a place, so each place has as many histories as people has lived them. The name of the platform is the etymological origin of the word local. The app was designed for both locals and tourists, that’s why all the applications were thought to be in Catalan, Spanish and English. The main claims were; "Troba’t a les històries", "Encuéntrate en las historias" and "Place yourself in histories". In the end, it would be a giant archive of the popular histories of Barcelona. In addition, the user has their own profile (which can be public or not), and thanks to their preferences (the type of experiences he looks for or the places where he goes) the app will recommend official routes and experiences the user might like.
